Rules & Expectations

Be collaborative and kind.
Be punctual, timely, and respectful of all efforts involved in making the market happen.
Take care in reading and responding to communications from your market host(s).
Fees ($30-$55 per space) must be paid within 72 hours of receiving an acceptance email or invoice. Failure to pay your fees or to communicate with the market host(s) prior to the end of the 72 hour period will result in forfeiture of your position in the market.
Market participants accepted to participate at a market are required to remain present at the event for the full duration of the event unless otherwise stated or agreed upon. Leaving the event early without communication and approval from the market host(s) will result in a $50 mandatory fee.
Market participants are expected to communicate in advance that they require reasonable accommodations in the event that they require an accommodation. Makers for Makers RVA will always do their best to provide an accessible space for all.
Market participants, when possible, will provide timely notice of cancellation (72 hours or more prior to the event)
Extra space for set-up is available upon request and must be approved prior to the day of the event. Do not pay for nor expect extra space unless you have received approval or confirmation from the market host(s). This may incur an additional fee.
Split/Shared tables are not allowed unless the market host(s) have explicitly stated otherwise.
What are we looking for?

Original art designed and created by the maker applying.
Locally grown and small batch food (proof of proper licensing is required).
Handcrafted and unique homegoods (this may include restored antique or vintage items/furniture).
Organizations focused on providing resources for community outreach and aid.
Entertainment providers (i.e. music, drag, photobooths) for select events.
What isn’t allowed?

Makers that promote, use, or share generative AI will not be considered.
No Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) or MLM adjacent businesses are allowed.
No 3D printed items, unless you are able to prove that you designed the item in CAD.
Products must be significantly handmade or created by the maker. If you bought or borrowed the item or the design for the item and did not create or design it yourself, it is not allowed at the market(this includes crochet, sewing, resin, jewelry/charms, etc.). Art that utilizes or is based off of the intellectual property (IP) or the likeness of another person is not allowed, unless the maker has been delegated the rights to use it or it unmistakably falls under the protection of the Fair Use Act. The market host(s) has the right to deny participation requests and applications , without explanation, at any time for any reason.
Other things to know:

Makers for Makers RVA cannot and will not be held liable for any damages to property or persons at or during an event put on by Makers for Makers RVA.
All fees and expenses paid to Makers for Makers RVA are final and non-refundable (please note that even though you may become ill or have other emergencies, fees collected are used to pay for the venue, advertising, and other operational costs).
If you are required to forfeit your place at the market for any reason, your fee is non-refundable.
The hosts behind Makers for Makers RVA reserve the right to accept or deny the participation of any maker, vendor, organization, or business at any time.
The hosts behind Makers for Makers RVA reserve the right to revoke the participation of any maker, vendor, organization, or business at any time.
Access to electricity, if available, is limited and may not be available to all participants.
If any participant is found to be in violation of any of the rules or guidelines, they may be asked to leave the market.
Market participants are responsible for providing all necessary materials to prepare their product display (including, but not limited to 6 ft tables, table clothes, displays, etc.).
Tents are not permitted indoors.
All Makers for Makers RVA events are rain or shine.
The submission of a form or application does not, at any time, guarantee acceptance.
